| GroundSpring Healing Center, P.C. is a complementary, integrative and collaborative health and wellness clinic located in SW Portland's neighborhood of Hillsdale. Acupuncturists are licensed by the State of Oregon to perform acupuncture, herbal prescription and application, Asian massage therapy, and all other modalities of Oriental Medicine. Pilates instructors are certified through Stott Pilates and have additional training in physical rehabilitation.

Gonzalo Flores, L.Ac., M.Ac.O.M. is a licensed acupuncturist with a master's degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He began his training in Asian medicine in 1976 in Okinawa, Japan and has been practicing Traditional Okinawan Karate for over 30 years. Mr. Flores is cofounder of GroundSpring Healing Center, PC. He is the National Director of Education for AOBTA, (American Organization of Bodywork Therapies of Asia) as well as a Certified Instructor in Medical Qigong. He sits on the ABT Review Analysis Committee for the NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine). Gonzalo is also an active member of the Oregon Acupuncture Association as well as a member of the International Association for the Study of Pain, (IASP).
Gonzalo specializes in oncology, autoimmune disorders, men's health, diabetes, pediatrics, cardiovascular disease and neurological disorders. He was one of the first acupuncturists to receive hospital privileges in the Portland Metro area. Mr. Flores is a Huasteca curandero, also known as a Native American and Mexican Indian traditional healer. As part of his family's lineage he teaches Curanderismo in a traditional and balanced way. |
Joanna Flores, L.Ac., M.Ac.O.M., ABT is a licensed acupuncturist with a Masters degree in acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She has been studying Shiatsu with Lindy Ferrigno since 1998 and has her ABT, Asian Bodywork Therapist, certification through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She has been invited to speak for the AOBTA, American Association of Bodywork Therapies of Asia, about her PediStone Reflexology clinic. Joanna completed her undergraduate training at PSU where she worked as an athletic trainer for volleyball and football.
She received her Stott Pilates certification in 1998. Joanna is a certified qigong and meditation instructor through the Ling Gui International Qigong School. With her rehabilitation background and her passion for stimulating the body's own healing response, she specializes in low back pain, sacroiliac instability, shoulder joint stabilization and mobilization, weight loss, gastro-intestinal disorders, menopausal symptoms, infertility, dysmenorrhea, and pediatrics. She works with children of all ages, including newborns using various Chinese massage techniques, called Tui Na. |
